I connect with students through creativy.

I’ve worked as a classroom teacher, teaching artist, speech and debate coach, youth advocate, and as a creative producer supporting opportunities for young people. I frequently collaborate with educators and administrators as well as non-profit and municipal leaders to develop new ways for young people to learn and grow.

I’m interested in how the creative process can be embedded in a variety of educational activities. In addition to producing and directing shows that feature young people, I develop projects that encourage children to organize and share their thoughts and ideas their community and the public at large.

The Vintage Classroom

The Vintage Classroom brings the past to life. This collaboration with the MDI Historical Society invites students to become participants in the history of their own community. We recreate a day in the life of a one-room schoolhouse in 1895 and students engage with performers to gain a deeper understanding of our shared history, including the ways our world has changed and the ways it stays the same.

The Middle School Shakespeare Project

The Middle School Shakespeare Project creates an opportunity for young people interested in creativity to work together on annually on a new theatre production. Now in its fourth year, the project has made it possible for students from different schools to connect with one another as they gain a deeper understanding of the work of Shakespeare and the themes, characters, and ideas in his plays.
